Have you just been down in the dumps and can’t get into the holiday spirit? Yeah, me too! It has taken me a really long time to get into the mood and usually I’m the first to play the music after thanksgiving and put on Christmas movies, but this year has really gotten me down. Yesterday, I told myself I wanted to bake for the neighbors and my co-workers to help me get into the mood. After I told my husband this, I received a really good sweet present from my next door neighbor. I had a tin can full of chocolate fudge and butterscotch cookies. After that moment, I knew I had to do something for the neighborhood. So tonight, I baked snickerdoodles, sugar cookies, and rice krispies. I had christmas music in the background, all the christmas lights were on and I had the little glimmer of my candles. I have now gotten a little bit into the spirit. My gifts aren’t all wrapped yet, but I have shipped some present to Texas and will wrap them when I get there. But if you’re feeling down and want a pick me up, grab an apron, pour some wine, turn your oven onto 450 degrees and bust out that pinterest account full of your holiday baking ideas and start baking. Even if its just for fun, this will help you get in the mood!
