Crock Pot Chili

My husband is a fan of this crock pot chili.  Crock pots save our lives.  I can prepare everything in the morning, turn it on low, and walk out to work and then come home to a meal already cooked.  This is some good tummy warming food when it is 45 degrees and raining. My husband even knows how to use a crock pot! And that says a lot!  Check out my recipe for some good southern comfort chili.

1lb ground meat (hamburger or turkey)

1 sausage link of your liking (we like spice so we get anything with jalapeño in it)

1 can diced tomatoes (undrained)

1 cup onion

2 tablespoons chili powder

2 garlic cloves

**1 tablespoon cumin (if using ground turkey)

1 can of diced green chilis (optional)

salt and pepper to taste

-Brown your ground beef and drain then pour into the crock pot

-Cut your sausage link into pieces of your liking and pour into the crock pot

-Combine diced tomatoes, onion, chili powder, garlic, cumin (if using), green chilis, and salt and pepper, and stir

-Once combined, pour over the meat and put crock pot on low for 6-8 hours

**Garnish with sour cream and chives

**I serve my chili with fritos or corn bread.

This is probably one of the our favorites and quick meals to make.
