Southern Pea-can Pie

Looking to get a taste of the south? I know I am! Here is my recipe I will be using for Thanksgiving dinner this week! Try it out! I know it will make you say Ye-Haw!



1 pre-made pie crust or if you’re feeling fancy, a homemade pie crust

3 eggs lightly beaten

1 C Karo corn syrup

2/3 C granulated sugar

1/3 C melted butter

1 Tsp vanilla extract

1 1/2 C pecan halves

1 egg for egg wash


Preheat oven to 350.  Grab your pie plate and press the pie dough into it and crimp and trim.  I egg wash the crust before I put anything on the pie crust.

Combine the eggs, corn syrup, sugar, butter, and vanilla.  Mix well and then fold in pecan halves.

Pour the mixture on top of the pie crust.

I cover the edges of the pie crust with foil to prevent it from over browning.

Once covered, put in the oven for 45 minutes or until a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean.

Cool on wire rack

Cover and put in fridge for a couple of hours

Take out a little before serving and enjoy!
